My name is Anna Abignano and I have worked in Marketing & PR for 30 years. During the pandemic, I quit my then six-figure agency job - where I was heading the consumer department of a large agency - to work exclusively with small to medium business owners. I witnessed so many businesses struggling during that time, and because I grew up in a family small business, I realised that's where my heart & passion was. I have now been working 1:1 with business owners as a small business marketing coach & consultant for seven years and I love it, everyday. Seeing my client's lives change for the better is my absolute honour and pleasure.
My Story
After working in my family small business during my teen years and studying PR & Marketing, I began working at the TEN Network in the late 90s as a young, eager Junior Publicist where I worked on many popular series of the time such as Baywatch, Melrose Place and Beverly Hills 90210. I met and toured A-List celebrities such as Pamela Anderson, David Hasselhoff and local celebrities such as the cast of Neighbours. Working in TV, on the news side, also taught me about what made a strong television story, allowing me to leverage that experience and get my small to medium business owners on media platforms they've only dreamed of.
After a few years in TV, I moved into PR and Marketing agency side, working with well-known consumer brands such as Westfield, Vitasoy, NutraLife Vitamins, Muffin Break, Catch.com.au, Oz Hair & Beauty, Weight Watchers and more. I also managed my own clients such as Walker Books, The Women in Media Brand, Gelatissimo, comedian Joe Avati and more. From there, I launched the Small Business Marketing Queen, returning to my roots of small business, taking my years of experience and applying it to building strong, impactful marketing growth strategies specific to each business.
My unique point of difference and value I bring to clients is my one-on-one work with small business owners and my mix of Marketing AND Public Relations experience (which is important for every business). I focus on creating growth strategies specific to each business, cutting out all the marketing noise online and the current digital marketing problem of 'one-size-fits-all' strategies that don't work long-term.
